Coach Gibbons enters his fifth season with Oakton’s baseball program as an assistant varsity coach ... Works along with Don Kildoo with the team’s pitchers ... Also serves as the school’s head varsity wrestling coach ... Was an all-region selection as a senior pitcher at Bedford High School in Pennsylvania ... Was also a three-time regional finalist and posted 122 career victories in wrestling and a two-time all-county selection in football ... Later pitched for four seasons at George Mason University, where he was a teammate of Cougars infielders coach Brent Weiss and defeated Old Dominion University’s Justin Verlander, the American League Cy Young winner and MVP in 2011, in a pitching match-up during the 2004 season ... Resides in Haymarket with his wife and newbord twin sons.
