Coach Steve Drumm - 2011 Head Varsity Coach; 6th Year Oakton, 6th Year Fairfax County

 

Coach Drumm began his volleyball career playing on a USVA JO 12U club team and continued throughout his scholastic career playing setter/def. specialist for his High School team, as well as playing on a travel club team that featured many players who went on to play for Division I programs, such as Penn State, George Mason, and East Stroudsburg. He continued his playing career at Michigan State University, where he played for the travelling Club team.

In 2009, Coach Drumm's 2nd season as Head Coach, he helped Oakton to its best season in school history (17-6), shattering the previous school record for wins, and qualifying for the Regional Tournament for the first time since 1998. 

In 2010, the Oakton Volleyball continued its successful ways, finishing 13-8, including a 3rd place finish in District Play (tying the best finish in school history - 1999) and once again qualifying for the Region Tournament. 

Coach Drumm's three-year Head Coaching record stands at 36-26 (.581) and he is the young progam's all-time leader in coaching victories.

In addition to coaching at Oakton, Coach Drumm assisted in coaching the NVVA Select 16s and 17s Teams, leading them to a 103-62 record in match play, and helped to train nine players who have gone on to play in college.

He is USAV-IMPACT and CAP I certified and has attended the Gold Medal Squared and USAV-VCAP (Conditioning) Clinics.
