Sam has lived in Northern Virginia all her life, graduated from Oakton High School in 2001, attended Radford University and studied Media Studies and Spanish and graduated in 2006. Currently, Sami is the Level 4-7 competative team gymnastics coach at Fairfax Gymnastics Academy. Sam is also the lead photographer and account manager for TC Sports Photography a youth sports photography company as well as a freelance photographer.

From age 6-12 Sam was a competitive gymnast for Karon’s Gymnastics in Burke Virginia. Sam then started playing softball for NVGSA and Cardinals Softball as well as being a member of the Oakton Softball team from 1999-2001 as starting 2nd baseman. During Sam’s senior year Oakton won the Regional championship and were runners up in the State Tournament. Sam also competed all around for Oakton’s gymnastics team from 1997-2001 and was the team captain her senior year.
