Oakton Cougars Varsity Overcomes Chantilly In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Chantilly scored three runs in the sixth inning, but Oakton Cougars Varsity still won 6-3 on Tuesday. Pierce, Robertson, and Martin each drove in runs during the inning.
Oakton Cougars Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Robbie Lavey doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Oakton Cougars Varsity notched three runs in the third inning. Oakton Cougars Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Lavey, Reid Steinberg, and Noah Toole, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Tanner Vislay was the winning pitcher for Oakton Cougars Varsity. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out four. Toole and Ryan Sleightentered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Toolerecorded the last three outs to earn the save for Oakton Cougars Varsity.
