WASHINGTON AND LEE HIGH: 0
The Cougars opened the season with a home game against the Washington and Lee Generals. Freshman Allison Davis led the offense with an out-of-the-park homerun in addition to a single and double for a total of 5 RBI’s. Other hits included a double by freshman Becky Cerva, and singles by junior Emily Corridon, sophomore Emily Krisanda, and sophomore Mary Kate Mehegan. Freshman Kelsea Sinnett and Mary Kate Mehegan also drove in runs.
Pitcher Allison Davis struck out 11 batters for a no-hitter. The Cougar defense remained tight and did not allow any earned bases in the 5 inning game.
Following the game, the Cougars celebrated their win at Vienna Inn.
The undefeated Cougars travel to Woodson on Tuesday, March 22 to play the Cavaliers. See you there!
