The Cougars traveled to Woodson to face the Cavaliers. A tough battle was fought by the Cougars who fell to their first loss of the season.
The Cougars held a tight defense until the Cavaliers broke open the scoreless game in the 4th inning. A series of Cougar errors allowed the first unearned run of the game. In the 6th, 2 additional runs were scored on Cougar errors. Great defensive plays included a scoop by Mary Kate Mehegan in right field, thrown in for an out at the plate.
Offensively, the Cougars had a tough time battling Woodson pitcher Naomi Kennedy. A single was hit by Emily Krisanda, who was driven in by Allison Davis’ double in the 6th. Mary Kate Mehegan’s drag hit in the 7th brought in our second runner, Angie Noviello. Other hits were singles by Becky Cerva and Emily Corridon.
