The Cougars traveled to Ashburn on a chilly night to face the #6 All-Met ranked Stone Bridge Bulldogs.    

Becky Cerva took third and stole home on a wild pitch in the 2^nd inning to put the Cougars on the scoreboard.  Allison Davis’ deep center field hit drove in Mary Kate Mehegan in the 5^th for the second run.  Allison Davis’ ground out in the 7^th brought in Emily Corridon for our third and final run.

The Cougar defense kept Stone Bridge scoreless in the first, but 2 unearned runs came in the second inning.  A sacrifice bunt in the 4^th brought in the third run.  Short hits and stolen bases in the 5^th put the Bulldogs in prime scoring positions; and a hard line drive brought in the Bulldogs’ 2 winning runs.

Swinging their bats for hits were:  Emily Krisanda for a double and a single, Allison Davis for a double, Emily Corridon, Mandy Krage, and Becky Cerva for 2 singles, Kelsea Sinnett and Mary Kate Mehegan for singles.  Well-placed sacrifice bunts by Emily Corridon, Emily Krisanda and Kelsea Sinnett advanced Cougar runners.  Allison Davis brought in 2 RBI’s. 

Allison Davis pitched 6 innings with 10 strike outs.
