On the heels of winning their first district game, the lady cougars returned to their home diamond to face the Robinson Rams who were 2-0 in district play.

The Rams scored one run in the first inning, and the Cougars held them the rest of the night.   

Offensively, the Lady Cougars started out with a bang when Emily Corridon led off with a line drive over 2^nd base for a single.  Emily Krisanda helped speed things along with a line drive into center field for a double.  With team mates in scoring position, Mandy Krage’s sacrifice fly plated Corridon for the Cougars’ first run.  The score remained tied at 1-1 until the Cougars took the lead in the sixth inning.  Catcher Mandy Krage singled with a line drive to right field, and Angie Noviello came in as a courtesy runner.  Abby Mills reached first, and Becky Cerva singled.  With bases loaded, Kelsea Sinnett singled to score Angie Noviello for the winning run. 

At the top of the 7^th, the Rams singled to get on base.  With fast footwork, Powers got to third and in scoring position.  Oakton Pitcher, Allison Davis, put an end to the game by striking out the last two batters.

The Rams were swinging, but good defensive work by the Cougars held them to a single run including several short hits fielded by pitcher Allison Davis, fly caught by short stop Emily Krisanda, line drive caught by 2^nd baseman Becky Cerva who threw to Hayley French to complete the double play, bunts and a grounder fielded by 3^rd baseman Kelsea Sinnett, and a fly to RF caught by Mary Kate Mehegan.     

Oakton was led again by the pitching of Allison Davis.  The Rams had 27 plate appearances, and Davis struck out 9.  Only 5 hits were allowed in 7 innings.
