The Lady Cougars faced the Hayfield Hawks in their second game of a double header at the Hayfield Tournament.

In the first inning, Kmily Krisanda doubled to right field and advanced to third on a passed ball; unfortunately, the Cougars couldn’t cross the plate.  The Hawks didn’t allow any hits in the second.  Emily Corridon led off in the third with a single followed by Allison Davis’ double off the left field fence.  With Oakton in scoring position, Mandy Krage singled to left field, plating Corridon and Davis.  Hayfield’s pitchers held Oakton hitless for the remainder of the game.

The Cougars held the Hawks scoreless until the 3^rd inning.  Hayfield’s Brittany Creamer hit a homerun over the left field fence scoring the first Hawks’ run.  In the same inning, Haymarket reached on error, and then scored, tying the game at 2-2.  Nine strike outs and Oakton’s fielding nixed any scoring opportunities in the final four innings.       

Allison Davis saw 32 batters, and struck out 12 in 7 innings of play.
