Oakton vs. Chantilly
Oakton defeated Chantilly 2-0 to win the 2013 Concorde District Championship.
Oakton pitcher, Allison Davis, held Chantilly scoreless, limiting them to two hits while striking out eight batters and giving up no walks. Only three Chargers reached base during the game.
Oakton took the lead in the fourth inning after Emily Krisanda singled. Alana Peters then stepped up and hit the ball to the right field fence, driving in Krisanda for a 1-0 lead.
Oakton added an insurance run in the fifth inning after Jaime Arbesfeld and Mary Kate Mehegan both reached base by hitting singles. Allison Davis then hit a hard line drive that the first baseman couldn’t handle and allowed Arbesfeld to cross the plate for a 2-0 lead that Oakton would hold for the game.
Oakton had six hits by different Cougar batters.
Oakton improved to 10-7 on the season.
