The Oakton Girl’s Swim & Dive team had a very successful night.  Starting the meet off, the team of Leaya Ma, Brynn Curtis, Evelyn Pickett, and Abigail Zindler earned first place in the 200 medley relay with the time of 1:51.00.

• Elizabeth Williams, Catherine Lim, Julia Byrnes, and Riley Beeman took second, third, fourth, and fifth in the 100 backstroke
• Lindsey Liddell improved a mass total of 2.74 in 100 butterfly
• Newcomer Maddie Reese placed 1^stin diving earning 218.6 points
• Divers Claire Newberry (3^rd), Jessica Fritsch (4^th), and Kelly Marshall (5^th) added to the Cougar dominance off the boards
• Angela Cai improved by 0.13 seconds in the 50 freestyle
• Hailey Wang improved a whopping 20.94 seconds in the 500 freestyle.

 At the end of the meet, with 18 swimmers improving their previous best times, the Oakton Cougar girls beat the Westfield Bulldogs 179-133, ending the dual meet season with a record of 7-1.

Next week, Oakton will be at the VHSL Concorde Districts event at Cub Run and will be battling it out for first against Centreville, Madison, Chantilly, and Westfield. Prelims will begin at 5:30 pm on Friday, January 25^th, with finals starting at 5:30 pm on Saturday. Come out and cheer the Cougars on to victory—show up early, wear burgundy & gold, and be loud.
