Boosters volunteers needed

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Like most organizations in the school, Booster resources are going to be very stretched in the coming year. Due to the economy, sponsorships and fundraising are down. There is a long list of needs including a new gym floor, new scoreboards, field maintenance equipment and many other items for which we will receive NO $$ from the County. It's going to be a very big challenge!

To make sure that the quality of the athletic programs at Oakton remains as high as it has always been, Boosters will be working closely with Pat Full, the Director of Student Activities at OHS. At the Booster Board meeting this week, we heard from Pat about some creative and potentially lucrative fundraising ideas. But these ideas can't be carried out without volunteer support. This doesn't have to be a major time commitment....even an hour or two a month will help. And you will not be expected to make calls to ask people for money. It could be as simple as stuffing envelopes for a mailing or picking up and delivering banners.

Spring workouts

Spring workouts for all rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors are currently taking place! Conditioning workouts are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Come meet the coaches and get in shape for the upcoming season!

Rising Varsity players

Are you interested in trying out for the Varsity basketball team next fall and helping to make the 2010 Concorde District Basketball Champions an even stronger team? If so, please let Coach David Brooks know by sending him an email at David.Brooks@fcps.edu! League play for Rising Varsity spring and summer leagues is available.

Varsity Banquet

The 2010 Varsity Banquet is scheduled to take place on June 14 in the Oakton HS auditorium. Each current Varsity athlete is invited to attend along with his parents. More details will be forthcoming, but please mark your calendars for this fun-filled evening!
